You probably know what pokemon is, but if you don't:
Pokemon (short for pocket monsters) is a media franchise that lets you live in a world where humans exist amongst supernatural animals, and humans can encase them in capsules to travel and fight with- Hence the name Pocket Monsters.
People who travel with pokemon are often 'trainers', meaning they train them to win battles between other pokemon. Most of the games and anime centre themselves around this premise- You play a character on their journey to become the strongest pokemon trainer in the region, and probably ened up taking down a criminal organisation while you're at it. The team you build can comprise of any pokemon you can attain, making the game very customisable.
Pokemon has been one of my strongest, most consistent special interests throughout my whole life. Even when my interested faded somewhat around gen 5, I was still obsessed with the older gens, including the anime and the games.
Shockingly, I was one of the FEW kids in my primary school that liked pokemon. I don't know if it's because I was raised in a small-ish town, but nobody was as obsessed as I was. My siblings liked it, especially my brother, but my interest went beyond that of a normal child's interest. I'm not even entirely sure why pokemon appeals to me so much- Probably the supernatural animals and their personalties, the worldbuilding, and the soundtrack. Not to mention the nostalgia, of course.
But whatever it was, it was as integral to my childhood as my school or family. I have so many memories of playing the games, bouncing between generations and consoles as I saw fit. I'll go deeper into specific memories and the games in their specific webpages.
Obviously one shrine page is not enough for me, and will probably require a whole sitemap to include all the sub-subpages I have planned.
